Open rafters. Thankfully it wasn't too cold yet when we started this on 9-26. This is around 10-06. This was after we tore down all the oak paneling and pulled nails. You can't see it -but right where the plaster ceiling ends there is a steel I beam that holds up our house. (which would prove super fun when eddie tried to attach the drywall to it - metal on metal is not my favorite sound) All of the blown in insulation was removed from the attic. We had some other odds and ends to get rid of in the attic as well - mostly empty boxes. This is a weird old house. When our front room plaster ceiling literally came down 7 years ago - we found a car in the attic! 2 bucket seats, 2 doors & windows, and a grill. I wish we knew about craiglist then- I am sure it worth some money - it was gone in matter of minutes when we threw the parts on the curb.
